As a proud mother and sister of Leiden University staff, I want to share how much the university has meant to us. My sister worked at the Hortus botanicus for many years. She has told me many wonderful stories and even celebrated her 50th birthday there, in the greenhouses, among the tropical plants.
But the university truly became significant for us when our son began studying there. Initially, he made a brief detour from the University of Amsterdam for a minor during his bachelor's degree, but his master's could only be one place: Leiden. And once he graduated, he even landed a job there!
You will understand that Leiden University holds a special place in our family's hearts.
