My hero: Josephus Justus Scaliger. The greatest scholar of the sixteenth century who came to Leiden in 1593 at the invitation of Leiden University. He donated all his books in oriental languages to our University Library. This is the beginning of the university as a center of knowledge of oriental languages and cultures.
