To me, the best thing about Leiden is the wild, ethereal atmosphere. It’s completely intangible but ever-present, like a blast of welcome sunlight. It is a centre of positive energy and love from all over the world. There is something indescribable in the streets that you can just feel; everything is so natural, so easy, and so right. You feel this within the university as well. Even during lunch in the KOG cafeteria, you could feel an undercurrent of excitement and the potential for something fun to happen.
It is not possible to put the true sensation of Leiden into words. It is certainly beyond my literary prowess to do so. Yet, when you are there, and when you can feel it, you will know exactly what I mean.
