During my studies, I took the elective course on human rights taught by the late Professor Hein Schermers. A select group of us visited Strasbourg to attend a session of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). It was a session against the Netherlands, no less. It was an impressive and fascinating course that truly came to life thanks to the enthusiasm of Professor Schermers. I have fond memories of him.
