Making employees and students feel at home in our buildings—so they can bring out the best in themselves. From a facilities and housing perspective, this is a tremendous challenge, with many colleagues working passionately behind the scenes every day to make it happen. Sometimes, it seems nearly impossible in our historic, monumental buildings. Other times, it happens almost effortlessly in our stunning, future-proof new constructions. Either way, it gives me extra motivation to make this a reality.
Every now and then, I dream: imagine that, at this very moment, someone within our walls is developing the cure for Alzheimer’s. Or that someone is discovering the key to world peace... And all of this because we have created an environment where our students and employees can fully immerse themselves in their work. Where they can excel.
