For me, Douwe Breimer and Adam Cohen have been leading examples in putting Leiden on the drug development map. Douwe Breimer created my degree programme, Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences. He also set up the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR), where I worked. His efforts have significantly boosted drug development in Leiden. A remarkable man who, at 80 years old, still has a substantial impact in this field.
Adam Cohen, as the former CEO of CHDR, has always been deeply involved with everyone within his company: from the cleaning staff to managers and from interns to highly regarded researchers, he always made an effort to speak with everyone and help where needed. He is also highly skilled in his field.
