Professor Huib Drion played a significant role in my decision to become a lawyer. On Friday mornings, he would lecture for two hours in the Gravensteen. During the first hour, he would present a case on behalf of the plaintiff. In the second hour, he would argue for the defendant, elaborating in great detail why and how his esteemed opponent had completely misunderstood the matter. The following week, a “courtroom” of three students would deliver a verdict. I found it brilliant and deeply inspiring!
