My favourite is: the open spaces in faculties that welcome you with the laughter of students. Going from a small school to a university with thousands of students can be very overwhelming. I constantly seek out quiet places to hang out, isolating myself from the rest. But at Van Steenis the reuvenszaal is open, full of light, and students of all trajectories hanging out as one. From studying, to taking lunch, or just a quick catch up with friends; you can’t help but feel at home in this landscape. Learning and studying is the reason you come to university, but it's the community that makes you stay.
