The fascinating work at the Coagulation Lab, also known as the Laboratory for Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research. At the time (1965), it was headed by Dr. Emil Alfred Loeliger, a Swiss internist. As laboratory technicians, we mainly worked with Dr. Jan Veltkamp. An intelligent man and a hard worker who also enjoyed a good time. I remember researching families with hemophilia patients, as well as the graduation celebrations and the Sinterklaas festivities. In 1965, the lab was located in the pavilion building of Internal Medicine. Some time later, we moved to the brand-new Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic on Wassenaarseweg.
