I came to Leiden in 2013 as a recent physics graduate and potential physics teacher. Here I discovered that, indebted as they are to academically trained teachers, the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) and the Leiden Observatory have close ties with their network of physics teachers, particularly those in secondary education. This initiative is known as Contact.vwo. Contact.vwo's network and activities are highly valuable and make a fundamental contribution to preventing a greater shortage of teachers. I am only to pleased to contribute to this effort.
